Belthangady: The blessing and grand inauguration of  the renovated St. Francis Xavier Church, Indubettu was held on Tuesday 16th December. Mangaluru  Bishop Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed and celebrated the solemn Eucharist at the Renovated St. Francis Xavier Church. This was also an occasion for the Diamond Jubilee celebration of this Parish (1955-2015)

Bishop Dr. Aloysius Paul presided over the stage programme after the Eucharistic celebration at 11:30am.

Mr. M.P.Noronha, Secretary, Diocesan Pastoral Parishad, V. Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, Vicar Vara, Belthangady Varado were the guests of honor.

Bishop Dr. Aloysius Paul, in his presidential address praised the hard work of all the people who were involved in the Church building project and he implored God’s blessings on all the people present.

Mr. M.P.Noronha in his address appreciated the efforts of Indubettu Parish Priest Fr. Simon D’Souza and the parishioners of Indubettu parish and wished all the best for everything and assured all his support.

During this function former parish priests of Indubettu Church were felicitated and everyone thanked their efforts to nourish people’s faith. Parish report was presented by Parish Council  secretary Gracy Lobo and Mr. Francis Moras while Vice President of the Parish Council delivered the vote of thanks.

People from all faiths were present for this historic moment and they also participated in the fellowship meal.  Eer Undara…? A Tulu drama by Ln. Devdas Kapikad was staged in the evening as part of entertainment program.
