Mangalore, Jan 25: Gone were the days in India where women were respected as the form of goddess. Not only one religion but every religion depicts to respect woman with high regard. All these values are vanishing when India has reached to its golden period of 21st century, at one side it is progressing at global front, other it is losing its moral ethics.
Country witness significantly the highest amount of rape, eve-teasing, molestation and sexual harassment cases, which has made Delhi, as country’s ‘Rape Capital’. Being labeled with such immoral tag by international media, country has seen no major change after witnessing brutal rape case last year better known as ‘Nirbhaya’ case. On the contrary, rapes, eve-teasing, molestation occurring again at its momentum.
Youth fought, angered, shouted, marched, and raised voice against such intolerable atrocities against women. Consequently, lathis, tear gas, water cannons, unleashed on young protestors. What were they demanding with such patriotic protest? Was it for job, money, etc? No, it was a voice for common woman, for their mothers, sisters, wives!
“When the system cannot do anything for you, why should you do anything for it?” This is the basic question a student asked while addressing a news channel reporter about the recent rapes taking place in India.
The orthodox Indian officials blame the women for all this. They say wearing immoral and revealing clothes is the major reason for rapes to take place. It attracts and arouses men to take such horrible steps and do such heinous crime. But what kind of revelation had the five year old girl from Gurgaon made to attract rapists? Only pointless arguments have been made without getting to the solution and this is disappointing on the part of the government because during elections they ask us to vote, vote for change and nothing ever changes.
Crime is not gender biased. The issue seems deviating as it is only not women who are hunted and men who are the hunters; it is purely the mental condition of a person, which makes him a criminal. The recent case where a mother killed her own child and framed it as a kidnapping case was an atrocious act on her part being a mother or another case of a mother-in-law killing her daughter-in-law.
Psychologists have not completely been able to find out the reason for a normal human being to take such a major step and become a criminal. But in all observed cases they have concluded these points
The convict has received very less or quite surprisingly no love and care in their early childhood
- They are mentally unstable most of the times
- Something dreadful has happened to them in the past and they either take revenge of it on anyone or someone in specific
- Desire, envy, anxiety, greed are major reasons for crimes
It is certainly most surprising to see the wild side of a person been revealed and that to in such an inhumane manner, be it, raping kids, human trafficking, cannibalism, obsession with someone so much as to kill them and live with their dead bodies and many such outrageous acts.
The ying-yang theory says every person has two sides. It is very true and one has to make sure the evil side does not weigh down the good side. The basic solution to any problem is communication. Whenever we have a problem we must speak it out because no one here is a Buddha to get enlightenment as to what you are thinking. So speak up and share your thoughts. There might not be a solution for everything but surely the intensity of the effect of the problem can be reduced. In this way crimes can be reduced and our country could be at safer place.
