Atwal made headlines for his honesty after he returned approximately 8,000 Australian dollars (equivalent to ₹ 4.53 lakh) to a passenger who had accidentally left the cash in the backseat of his taxi.
Speaking to 9 News Melbourne, Atwal shared that he often comes across items left behind by passengers in his vehicle. On this occasion, he found around $8,000 and promptly handed it over to the police, stating that the idea of keeping the money never crossed his mind.
When asked if he received a reward from the owner, Atwal responded, “No, I don’t need a reward.”
