Karachi: In a startling incident in Karachi, Pakistan, a wild lioness was seen roaming the streets and even attacking people, as captured in a viral video. The video, which has garnered over 451k views and 4,300 likes, prompted former cricketer Wasim Akram to express concern on social media.
The video shows the lioness calmly walking through a residential area and later attempting to attack a man, who fortunately managed to escape unharmed. Eventually, the lioness was corralled into a barricaded lane.

Local authorities responded swiftly to the reports, with both the wildlife department and the police mobilizing a significant presence. Capturing the elusive lioness proved to be a challenging task, as it continuously evaded capture, even seeking refuge under a commercial building’s basement. After over an hour of effort, the authorities successfully secured the lioness and returned it to its enclosure, which was then handed over to the wildlife department.
The police have filed charges against the owner of the pet lion, and the wildlife department intends to initiate legal proceedings against the resident involved. It was revealed that the lioness had escaped from its cage while being transported in a loader vehicle for medical treatment.
