Bandhan, Canara Bank Officers Face Backlash for Abusing Staff Over Targets

In a video that has surfaced online, an officer of Canara Bank was seen reprimanding some junior employees over unmet targets in the office. The officer can not only be seen shouting at the employees in the video but also using fowl language and abusing them. The video has gone viral on social media. It showed an officer named Lokapati Swain of Canara Bank, saying, “If you will not participate in recovery, including holidays because you want time after working to travel with your family but to hell with your family. What should I do? And the bank has given you a job for work not for travelling with family. I don’t care about your family, I don’t care about my family also, I care about Canara Bank. So clear message to all, and if week-wise, Monday to Saturday, work is not happening, Saturday or Sunday, whenever holiday, and if you did not respond kindly, things will be different and for everyone be it officer, chief manager, AGM.”

On April 24, a similar video showing multiple Bandhan Bank employees having an online meeting went viral. “Definitely correct, sir?” an officer by the name of Kunal Bhardwaj could be heard saying… Do you even feel self-conscious about it? This is March?” to a worker who, according to reports, fell short of the March goals. Internet users respond Numerous users responded to the viral video on social media. One person on social media commented, “I hope his family has a happy life. I feel bad for them.” If he doesn’t care about his family, tell him to travel to Banaras, Haridwar, or the Himalayas. Why work in a setting that is so stressful? There, he can get two waqt ki rotis,” wrote a different user.

“Total sympathies with that Kunal – to have been driven to extreme pressure to show results, he is now vitiating the entire region,” yet another social media user wrote. “Put him behind the bars,” one user commented.
