Kolkata : Mumbai Indians sealed its 23-run maiden IPL victory against Chennai Super Kings at Eden Gardens on Sunday.
After scoring a 148 for 9, the Mumbai Indians restricted Chennai to 125 for nine to begin a charged night of celebrations.
Lasith Malinga who had quite an inert presence this IPL season, this Sri Lankan Slinger slipped into his grove at the final match. Kieron Pollards outstanding performance, the West Indian who played the last two deliveries of the innings hitting for sixes, remained unbeaten on a 32-ball 60 as Mumbai reached 125 for 9. Skipper MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on a 45-ball 63 that had three fours and three sixes,but was not much of help.
It indeed was a superb collective effort from the Mumbai side and gave SACHIN the perfect way to bid his adieu from the IPL.
