Jakarta: Asian Games 2018 was home for an exuberant performance by the Indian contingent. It laid a platform to break its own record of winning 65 medals in 2010. In this edition, the team has managed to bag 69 medals.

Union Sports Minister Rajavardhan Singh Rathod said, “It was the efforts, passion, and determination that led to this mammoth performance. It was not an overnight victory.”

“Such a task can only be accomplished if the government and the athletes co-ordinate with each other,” he added.

Now that the curtains have fallen on the various sporting events, the closing ceremony for the Asain Games 2018 is scheduled to be held at 2.30 pm IST on Sunday, September 2.
