In front of the forthcoming IPL season, Dhoni touched down in Chennai on Tuesday. There is a lot of conjecture that Dhoni’s playing career may be coming to an end this season.
Despite battling a knee injury the previous season, Dhoni led CSK to an IPL record-tying fifth triumph.
The 42-year-old had to have knee surgery in Mumbai following the Ahmedabad final.
Dhoni is ready to lead CSK once more, even though there are questions over his availability for the forthcoming season. He will be leading the team as captain for the fourteenth season.
Last week, MS Dhoni had an interesting update on his Facebook account. “Can’t wait for the new season and the new ‘role’. Stay tuned!” he wrote. The post started speculation on whether MS Dhoni will be coaching or not.
He later clarified on what he meant by his post. “New season, double role!” he wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday. The post was actually a promotion for the IPL.
