New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings made a grand entry into the IPL final for the fifth time in six seasons. This is their 4th final in a row,  last year, Kolkata stopped them from lifting the cup.Mumbai Indians were all out for 144 runs while chasing an imposing target of 193 runs after 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings.

The target was a bit too much for Mumbai, but when Dwayne Smith was going slam-bang, it looked like they would eventually run away with it. Mumbai were 86/1 in 8 overs but Ravindra Jadeja changed it all. He removed Smith in his very first over and followed it up with 2 more wickets, including the crucial one of Pollards. When Jadeja finished his spell, Mumbai were 127/5 in 15 overs. The rest was just a formality and Chennai helped themselves to a huge win.

Chennai Super Kings had  posted an imposing total of 192 runs at the loss of just one wicket after 20 overs against Mumbai Indians. It was a favourable toss to win by Super Kings and the opportunity was fully exploited by Hussey and Raina. With Kotla laying out a good batting strip, Hussey and Murali Vijay rustled up quick opening runs with none of the Mumbai bowlers able to make an impact. Murali Vijay gave a good start but perished. Michael Hussey took over from there before Suresh Raina unleashed himself on the bowlers. The partnership is unbeaten on 140 off just 76 balls and Chennai had scored 192 without any help from Dhoni.

Thus the two-time champions showed their superiority by turning a high-profile encounter into a one-sided operation.
