The high-octane political drama that unfurled in Maharashtra earlier this week was, in a way, similar to the developments in Karnataka soon after the conclusion of the Assembly elections in May 2018. We all know how that turned out. The turmoil in Maharashtra, however, is only just getting started.

Soon after the election results were announced, we saw very Shyamalan-esque plot twists and turns, with alliances being formed between parties who, before this time, would never have considered joining forces. The developments, if made into a script, would make for some really enjoyable TV and, maybe, enjoy a success similar to that of Netflix’s “House of Cards”.
