When you learn, you earn. When you teach you  reach… out and help many learn and earn. You reach into yourself, finding new depths. It is the Blockchain of learning.

Teaching requires a lot of effort; first to organize your time for it – multi-tasking while teaching is a big no-no; then the effort to prepare and enhance what you know – this involves a bout of research and additional learning; assessing your students and identifying the appropriate teaching/learning methodology; then comes delivery – the key to learning – you have to hold your student’s attention and make sure they get their concepts right; At the end of it you must be able to take failure – their failure to learn is yours to reach. In the pursuit of success, there is also a fine balance to achieve between the Rod and the Child.

A teacher is a parent, a guru and a mentor rolled into one. Besides being a parent to his / her own kids, he/she is a parent to so many others. Sometimes the difference is obvious, but in the best, the line is often blurred and the return on love is only visible with time. While it is a means of livelihood for some, teachers can create a livelihood for a multitude, and therein lies their value, which, unfortunately, is not given due credit.

Knowledge must spread like a virus beyond the masks that people wear to prevent it. So, teach every day, everyday things, nuclear fission, whatever, to whomever.
