Covid – 19, a bioweapon unleashed?

With the emergence of double mutant of Coronavirus circulating in India, theories about the Wuhan birthed virus as a weapon for a bio-war receives attention. As the second wave of COVID – 19 has hit our country, it has been forecast by scientists and virologists around the world that the pandemic shall prolong and the third wave would arise sooner than expected. While some theorists believe the ‘end-of-the-world’ phenomenon is taking place through this pandemic, others simply assert that the Chinese government would soon start a full-fledged war after its ‘bioweapon’ Covid – 19 virus has been eliciting worldwide increase of death rates.

A 2015 Chinese document which talks about the unnatural origins of viruses and man-made bioweapons has been cited often in the proposition of SARS-CoV-2 as a tool for a bigger war, such as the possible World War III. According to the Weekend Australian which indicated and reprinted the document, the latter was authored by Chinese scientists, government medical officials, public servants and others. The document gains much weight in comprehending that six years ago, the communal government of China thoroughly considered weaponising such viruses. When one recalls that the Coronavirus originated in Wuhan, one cannot forget that Wuhan also hosts the heart of Chinese biochemical research, the Wuhan Institute of Virology. So the possibility of the Chinese government already taking part and winning in a supposedly bio-war of World War III, is indeed an appealing one. The military document named ‘The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons’ is not just a ground-breaking proof for a possible war, but also the ruling government’s methods in suppression of vital and controversial information.

‘One of the leading advocates of the bioweapon theory, Chinese virologist Dr Li-Meng Yan, in an exclusive interview with Times Now, claimed that the coronavirus was purposely enhanced with a lot of caution to make it more harmful to humans. Dr Yan is currently living in exile after being allegedly harassed by the Chinese government,’ asserted the Times Now news report last year. Yan’s mother was detained by the communist ruling party during October 2020, while she fled to New York and was under protection although she was being traced. The aim of her mother’s arrest was to intimidate the virologist and silence her accusations. Dr Li-Meng Yan was under the limelight recently as she affirmed her previous findings on her investigation with the Republic Media Network on May 10 2021. She said, “This bio-weapon is non-traditional and unrestricted by nature. I have presented in my previous reports that the virus is man-made. This (the document aforementioned) is a very good evidence to support my report and to verify that the Coronavirus is the Chinese government’s home-grown project. I called it a non-restricted bioweapon project.”

The document allegedly published by the People’s Liberation Army, accuses the communist government of China by substantiating evidences about pre-determined plans of weaponising the virus. Commoners all over the world were furnished with the basic information by the Chinese government that the virus was located to originate in a sea food market in Wuhan not far from Wuhan Institute of Virology. It was assumed that the virus was an outcome of unusual consumption of sea food or evolving from bats. She pointed out that whatever data scientists have all over the world stems from the information given by the Chinese government. Hence, fabrication of data is an unavoidable prospect.

Furthermore, the government stalled the international independent scientists who wanted to research on the origin of the virus for 8 – 11 months since the beginning of the pandemic. Yan’s accuse thus sustains reasonable logical value. While the World Health Organisation continues to probe Chinese government to provide as much transparency as possible, the latter refuses to do so, increasing the existing suspicions on China voluntarily spreading the virus. CCP – Chinese Communist Party, the ruling party currently governing the country has been accused by many scientists and theorists around the world for their virus eliciting pandemic and uncountable loss of lives. As a non-traditional weapon, the coronavirus is invisible, stable as well as contagious on a much larger scale, which makes it a perfect biological ammunition. Yan aims at translating the document cited by the Weekend Australian in her series of accounts named ‘Yan Reports.’

Francis Boyle, another researcher presented his paper to the WHO affirming that the Coronavirus is certainly a biological weapon which is being administered to the world demographics, even to the Chinese, asserting that the communist government couldn’t care less about their own citizens. A professor at University of Illinois College of Law, he drafted the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989, which was approved unanimously by both Houses of the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President George H.W. Bush (Skopec, R. 2020). He adds that the weapon might be a dual-use biowarfare, which is why the Chinese government is now trying hard to contain it.

The WHO has acknowledged the efforts of such virologists who were whistle-blowers, but has not provided any conclusion on such premises so far. Until and unless the Chinese government allows independent researchers across the globe to examine and investigate, such accusations shall remain only to be strongly based theories. Chinese government’s transparency for rich researches as well as revisions on diplomatic relations with China should be the need of the hour for developed and developing countries suffering from the pandemic.
