Hilarious tweets flood Twitter after WhatsApp goes down

Bengaluru: Meta-owned WhatsApp, a popular instant messaging application, went down for several Indian and global users on Tuesday October 25. Users were unable to make calls or send or receive messages on their devices.

According to Downdetector, the outage of the WhatsApp service peaked around 12.30 pm IST. Many users in India stated that they were unable to send messages to their friends and groups using WhatsApp on their Android, iOS, or even WhatsApp web devices.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” a spokesperson of Meta, which owns WhatsApp said.

Meanwhile, people shared hilarious memes on Twitter and #WhatsAppDown started trending after WhatsApp went down with over 188K tweets and it is still trending first on Twitter.

The WhatsApp service was restored after several hours of disruption that affected millions of users all across the world.

β€œThe brief outage was a result of a technical error on our part and has now been resolved,” a Meta Company spokesperson said.
