Bantwal: Marriage in itself is nothing less than an exam. But, imagine the plight of a to-be bride, who is now in a dilemma to choose either marriage of her II PUC re-examination.

Razia (name changed) is a II PU student of a reputed institution in Bantwal.
Three months ago, the two families sat together, made calculations and decided that Razia would be married to her would-be groom on March 31.

The date was evolved mainly keeping in mind Razia’s II PU examinations.

Since then, Razia has been the busiest person in her family. While she handled the pressure of taking good care of herself, she made all necessary preparations for the crucial examinations as well.

Unfortunately, the Chemistry question papers leaked and what followed after that only caused confusion in Razia’s household.

In turn of events, the re-examination of chemistry paper has been scheduled for March 31, the date Razia is to get married.

“Initially when the department declared that the examination will be on March 29, I wondered how I could write the re-examination on the eve of my wedding. Now, the problem has only snowballed into a crisis. What do I do,” says Razia adding that she is left in a state of fix to choose between marriage and

examination.

Razia’s family is also worried. They say that if at all Razia opts to write the examination, they will run into several problems.

“The examination begins at around 9 am and gets over around 12.30 pm. If we allow her to write the examination, we would have to answer a lot of questions,” says Razia’s apprehensive family member.

All in all, story of Razia is only a tip of an Iceberg.

One small mistake of the Department has cost 1.75 lac students dearly in one way or other.

As of now, a clueless Razia wonders how to strike a balance.
