Sullia: The temperature outside is soaring high and the heat of examination is only adding to the temperature, leaving students high and dry. At this juncture of time, Sullia Government Pre University College students are resorting to nature to beat the heat.

The college has a sprawling ground which is dotted with luxuriously grown grand trees.

It is under these trees that 10th standard student are perching and making their necessary preparations for the examinations.

Over the last two weeks, the students and teachers have converted tree shades into classrooms while students prepare for the upcoming board examinations.

Further, since the classrooms are occupied for the ongoing PUC examinations, conducting classes for the 10th standard student inside classrooms was a little difficult.

Hence, the students were given a chance to experience the age old Gurukul system of learning.

The college has four divisions and at present 220 students are preparing for the SSLC exams.

The school under the tree begins and ends at normal school timing and preparatory sessions for the 10th standard examinations are conducted here.

The same model is being followed over the last few years and the students have expressed their wish to be seated under the tree and learn during dry summer season.

It is noted that Sullia taluk is experiencing 37-38 degree during the day and in the night the temperature drops to 32 to 33 degrees.

Even as thick clouds looms over the taluk, it has not been transformed into rains.
