Newskarnataka in association with JODI – Rebind with Nature, in its third episode of “Weekend Special with NK” will take you to Bondel and Venur to search for the fruits of nature like Wild Jackfruit, Kepula fruit and the Jarige fruit-almost the forgotten ones which will resuscitate our memories.

Here goes the third episode:

Kepula fruit

Jungle Flame Ixora which is also locally known as Kepula (Tulu), Kuntala (Kannada) grows only during summer. Kepula (ixora coccinea) is a wild shrub bearing red coloured flowers and berries, common in country sides.

Jarige fruit

Gamboge fruit is locally known as Jarige fruit. These fruits normally grow during summer and are a native of tropical Asia. Botanical name is garcinia morella.

Wild Jackfruit

Wild Jackfruit is botanically known as artocarpus hirsutus. Popularly known as the jungle jack it also has some local names like pejje kai (Tulu) hebhalasu (Kannada) palponos (Konkani).

Ltd., the leading pan Karnataka news portal based in Mangaluru launched its new venture “NK TV” – a web-based TV programming medium titled “Weekend Special with NK TV.” The first episode was based on the historical Kadri Sri Manjunatheshwara temple and second episode was based on a unique initiative taken up by LINK INTEGRATED REHABILITATION CENTRE FOR ADDICTS along with the social work students of ROSHNI NILAYA to help the addicts. The third episode was based on tasty Goli Soda.

The new venture will use existing media options like YouTube, Facebook and its very own Newskarnataka TV webpage to provide telling visuals of the world around us. It promises to live upto its tagline “Lights Camera Interaction.”
