Tulu movie ‘Dand’ sound track CD pack sold for Rs.10K

Mangaluru: An audio CD pack of the to be released Tulu movie ‘Dand’ movie which was released on Thursday was auctioned for Rs. 10,000. The auctioneers seeing the enthusiasm among the crowd, kept on increasing the bid that kicked off Rs. 500.

The yet to be released Tulu movie’s audio was released by Police Commissioner, S Murugan at Sanidhya Hall. The producer of the movie Shodhan Prasad announced a pack of Audio CD containing 10 CDs would be auctioned and money garnered from it would be given to Sanidhya Special School, the school that admits students suffering from Down syndrome and other abnormalities.

In a simple audio release program, the producer of the movie Shodhan expressed the Tulu movie industry was gradually developing. “This industry provides opportunities to local talents who are unable to pursue dream of acting in other giant cine-industries.” He informed the movie deals with drug abuse among the youth. ‘Dand’ means team in English. A team led by lead actor, Arjun Kapikad in the movie fight against drug menace, he added.

Police Commissioner S Murugan speaking on the occasion said he was elated to know that the movie deals with problems of substance abuse prevailing within the young generation. Substance abuse was a major problem hindering the progress of some section of youths. He hoped the movie able to communicate its message effectively not only to the people in the district but to the world. He expressed the hope that the movie would make a good collection at the box office.
