Ajith’s “Vivegam” was dubbed in Kannada and released as “Commando”. Although it was released in more than 100 theatres the film did not do well at the box office. However, a dubbed film releasing in so many theatres in Karnataka had set a new trend for future films to be dubbed in Kannada. Now, there are rumours that Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus “Syeraa Narasimha Reddy” will be released in Kannada.

The Telugu film, which has stars from other film industries, is already being dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam. The cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Kiccha Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu, Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Tamannaah. The makers also released a motion poster featuring the actor a few days earlier.

Directed by Surender Reddy, the film is produced by Ram Charan under the Konidela Production Company banner. Music for the film has been composed by Amit Trivedi. The historical film about India’s first freedom fighter against the British is expected to release in 2019.

With Sudeep in a pivotal role, the makers want to cash in on his popularity in Karnataka and are therefore contemplating dubbing the film in Kannada. We will now have to wait and see, how the Kannada organisations will react to this.
