Ramesh Aravind’s 100th film “Pushpaka Vimana” released last Friday is doing good business. As we all know, the film is inspired by 2013 blockbuster “Miracle In Cell No.7.”The film’s plot is a heartwarming tale about the relationship between a girl and her mentally challenged father who’s convicted for a crime he didn’t commit.
Srinagara Kitty wanted to do this film with his daughter. Kitty had no idea that the film was already being made in Kannada. Kitty wanted to remake Miracle in Cell No. 7 with him playing the mentally challenged father and his real life daughter, Parinitha, playing his daughter on screen as well.
He had even started negotiations with the makers of the Korean film to buy the remake rights. It was only when he saw the first-look of “Pushpaka Vimana” that was launched recently did he realise that it was based on the same plot. Left with no other choice, he dropped the idea of remaking the film.
