Rishab Shetty is back with his third film as director. The film, which has been titled “Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shale – Kasargod” (SHPSK) is about Kannada schools. The trailer and soundtrack of the film is already a big hit and it is all set to release statewide tomorrow. I am one of the lucky few people to catch the film a day earlier. Here is a review of the film:
The film is classy from the word go. Even though it looks like a children’s film, it is not. It is a commercial entertainer, which will be loved by people of all ages. It has all the elements needed in a commercial film. The film starts with the backdrop of children. Everything is going well in their school until one incident changes everything. A teacher comes and starts to teach in Malayalam. A female student protests against this and asks him to teach in Kannada, as it is a Kannada medium school. But, the teacher says that Kasargod is in Kerala and the students will be taught in Malayalam only. This leads to an “Ugra Horata”.
However, there are not many who can take on the government. This forces them to enlist the help of a retired teacher, played by Anant Nag. How he helps the students save the school is the rest of the movie.
Coming to direction, Rishab Shetty has given his best shot. He is improving with every film. It is a sure shot blockbuster. With this film, he has also ventured into production and he is sure to reap profits. The screenplay is so engaging. Rishab Shetty is undoubtedly the hero of the film. Raj B Shetty of “Ondu Motteya Kathe” has written the dialogues for the film. Mangaluru Kannada has been used in the film and it is beautiful. Raj B Shetty has succeeded in taking the viewers to another world.
Vasuki Vaibhav gives the movie a soothing music. Already, two songs of the film have crossed a million views on YouTube. The background score by Ajanees Loknath is another plus for the film.
Coming to the actors, Ananth Nag steals the show. He is terrific and rocks whenever he is on screen. His screen presence is magnificent and Sandalwood is really proud to have an actor like him. Pramod Shetty and Prakash Thuminad are very good. The future of Sandalwood is in safe hands as the kids in the film, Ranjan, Sampath, Saptha, Sohan and Mahendra are excellent.
Please do watch the film this weekend. You will surely love it. The film is not only entertaining but, has an excellent message. The film is a must watch.
