Normally, not much is done for remakes in Sandalwood, however, it looks like “Butterfly” will be an exception. The film, which is a remake of the Hindi movie “Queen”, is being directed by actor Ramesh Aravind and is being made four south Indian languages with different actresses playing the lead in each version. The Hindi film was a trendsetter right from the time of its release. All these factors have created a lot of buzz for “Butterfly” in Gandhinagar.

The makers are planning to release the first poster of the film in each language on October 19, on the auspicious day of Vijayadashmi. The Kannada version, “Butterfly” features Parul Yadav and the Tamil version, “Paris Paris” stars Kajal Aggarwal. Both these versions are being directed by Ramesh Aravind. The Telugu version titled “Mahalakshmi”, is directed by Prashanth Varma and features Tamanna Bhatia in the lead. The Malayalam version titled “Zam Zam” features Manjima Mohan and has Neelakanta helming the project.

This will be the first-of-its-kind in the world, where all four movies are being simultaneously produced and released on the same day. Produced by Manu Kumaran, in association with Parul Yadav and Co, these films have several notable actors from all the four south Indian language film industries playing prominent and supporting roles. The remakes also feature Elli Avram and Shibani Dandekar, who will be making their debuts in the south Indian film industries.
