Bengaluru: An upcoming Kannada film producer attempted suicide on Thursday afternoon owing to financial problems.

Police said, Shashi Kumar (35) consumed poison in his car as he had incurred severe losses.  He later called his wife to inform her. He was rushed to a private hospital in Kamakshipalya, police said. His condition is said to be stable.

He had produced a Kannada film titled ‘Half Mentlu’ which failed to see a release.
