Om Prakash Rao, who was laying low all these days, made a big announcement a few days ago. He will be directing stars Ravichandran and Upendra in a film that will be titled “Ravi Chandra”. But, it has now come out that the film is inspired by the Telugu film “Balupu”, and this has disappointed fans of both Upendra and Ravichandran.

Rao is known for directing remakes and copying scenes from many films. But, with two stalwarts- Ravichandran and Upendra, the audience had expected an original film from Rao. But, it looks like Rao is not at all interested in making an original film.

“Balupu” was a 2013 Telugu action entertainer starring Ravi Teja, Prakash Rai and Shruti Haasan in the lead. The lead roles in the Kannada remake will be played by Upendra, Ravichandran and Shanvi. In “Balapu”, Prakash Rai played Ravi Teja’s lover’s father. However, in the Kannada version, Upendra and Ravichandran will be seen as brothers.

The film is being made under RS Productions banner. The makers plan to release the first teaser of the film on Upendra’s birthday and another one of Ravichandran on November 1. The film’s music is by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Ravi.
