Very rarely do filmmakers agree that their film has become flop. Even if the film is flop, they never say the total loss suffered. However, Prakash Rai has come out in open and said that he lost Rs 75 lakhs from his bilingual “Idolle Ramayana” (in Kannada) and “Mana Ooori Ramayana” (in Telugu).
Prakash Rai recently gave this statement. He also said that he is not disappointed as he stands by the film he made. He feels that it takes time for people to accept different films and he said that he will continue directing good films.

The film had released during Dasara. The Kannada version of the film performed better than Telugu version. The Telugu version did not even cover publicity costs and was a disaster.
