Bengaluru: The trailer for the Kannada film ‘Garadi‘ was recently released ahead of its impending launch, promising an intriguing blend of rural wrestling, cinematic romance, and powerful intensity.

While ‘Garadi’ revolves around village wrestling and exudes a significant action-oriented essence, it differs from conventional macho wrestling narratives, embracing the feel of a sports drama with subtle action elements. The film delves into the world of village wrestling, emphasizing the age-old tradition of families dedicating their homes to this sport, turning it into a matter of family pride, physical strength, and unwavering commitment.

Soorya, portrayed by actor Soorya, takes on the role of a budding champion in village wrestling. His life revolves around rigorous training sessions and local matches. Amid his demanding practice regimen, Soorya encounters a girl, played by actress Sonal Montiero, with whom he had developed a connection through Instagram. Their initial meeting quickly escalates into a romantic relationship.

However, the stakes are exceptionally high because wrestling bouts within these households are not mere contests; they often symbolize matters of life and death, both figuratively and literally.

The ‘Garadi’ trailer offers an authentic glimpse into village wrestling. The film doesn’t depict over-the-top bodybuilders with eight-pack abs; instead, it portrays well-built individuals engaging in training routines that involve lifting substantial weights. The trailer highlights the intense matches that occur within compact rings, with veteran actors B.C Patil and P. Ravishankar taking on the roles of mentors and referees. There are also glimpses of slow-motion sequences and extravagant action scenes, along with the signature South Indian touch of item numbers, infusing glamour and spectacle into the rustic setting.

Directed by Yogaraj Bhat, and featuring an ensemble cast including Soorya, Kourava Bc Patil, Sonal Monteiro, Challenging Star Darshan, Dharmanna Kadur, Ravishankar, Sujay Belur, Pruthvi Shamanur, Raghu Hondadakeri, Cheluvaraj, Bala Rajwadi, Tejaswini Prakash, Nayana Sharath, and more, ‘Garadi’ is set to hit the screens on November 10, 2023.
