With his first blockbuster film “Mungaru Male” ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh had become a household name. He was so popular that all the movies in which he acted had become hits for the next four years.

He was known as the next big thing in South India, however, a poor selection of scripts affected his career in recent times. He also acted in many remakes, which did not produce the desired results.

Meanwhile, Ganesh is awaiting the release of “99”. Directed by Preetham Gubbi, the film happens to be noted music director Arjun Janya’s 100th film. The cinematography has been handled by Santhosh Rai Pathaje. The film was bankrolled under the banner of Ramu Enterprises.

It may be noted that “99” is a remake of the hit Tamil film “96”, which had Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha as the lead pair. “99” is scheduled for release on May 1.

Besides “Geetha” and “99”, Ganesh also has “Gimmick” in his kitty. Touted to be a horror-comedy, the film is directed by Naganna. A major portion of the film has been shot at a house in Sri Lanka with some portions being shot in Mysuru and Bengaluru.

It can be noted that “Gimmick” is Ganesh’s first attempt at a horror-comedy and his fans are eagerly awaiting the outcome at the box office.
