Bengaluru: Even though anchor and actress Anushri had voluntarily announced that she will appear before the CCB Mangaluru for an investigation into drug peddling on Friday, she did not turn up. The police waited for her to turn up in vain.

According to sources, Anushri who left Bengaluru on Friday was supposed to appear before the police on Saturday. But it is not clear why she didn’t join the investigation.

According to the Bengaluru police sources, even though Anushri was given time till Tuesday to appear for the investigation, she herself announced that she will appear on Saturday. “She was the preferred anchor for all events attended by Sandalwood stars. So, she may be aware of a few inside details. Her statements were expected to throw more light on the scandal,” said police sources.

According to sources, Anushri’s mobile is switched off. As she has been given time till Tuesday police may not issue another notice.

The notices to Anushri and Akul Balaji have sent shockwaves among viewers of the Kannada small screen as all of them are considered as family faces and they had a good rapport with one and all, viewers included.
