On November 23, the production of two films was launched. On one hand, Shivarajkumar’s “Kavacha” was launched. The film was making news, as it is a remake of the Malayalam film “Oppam”. It has been nearly 15 years since Shivarajkumar last acted in a remake.

On the other hand, Mandya MLA Ambareesh is making a comeback in Snadalwood as the lead hero with “Ambi Ning Vaiyasayitho”. To be produced by Kiccha Sudeepa and Jack Manju, the film also has Sudeepa in a pivotal role. The film is inspired by the Tamil film “Power Paandi”.

When the industry is seeing a wave of original scripts, it is unfortunate to see big stars like Ambareesh and Shivarajkumar opting for remakes. We hope to see less remakes by stars in the future.
