The first poster for the upcoming action-survival-drama-epic film “Aadujeevitham,” starring Malayalam actor Privthviraj Sukumuran, features the actor in a very theatrical, almost tribal-like survivor look. The image, which shows off the actor’s magnificent appearance, does little more than raise anticipation for the movie.
In the poster, Prithviraj portrays Najeeb Muhammad, who is encircled by a group of goats under the scorching sun’s glare. The actor is extremely deadly in this new avatar, appearing to be either content to die or rather to wait to kill.
The poster alone is enough to drive home the tone of the film, showcasing it to be a narrative-wise very serious and brooding kind of drama. Being surrounded by goats all around with eyes closed, it sure looks like the superstar is waiting to kill someone.
‘Aadujeevitham’, titled ‘The Goat Life’ in English, is an adaptation of the 2008 Malayalam novel of the same name which sees a man called Najeeb Muhammad, a Malayalee immigrant and worker who is thrust into slavery into Saudi Arabia as a goatherd.
Najeeb, the main character of the book, shares the aspirations of most immigrant laborers, who want to work in the Persian Gulf states and make enough money to bring home. However, he fulfills his desire only to be thrust into a life akin to a slave, herding goats in the middle of the Saudi desert by a string of unfortunate events.
Najeeb, escaping across the harsh and scorching Arabian deserts, kills some of his captors en route to his terrifying escape.
A joint production, the movie is directed by Blessy and features music by A.R Rahman, and will release sometime in 2024.
