Mangaluru: The Unique Identification Authority of India’s (UIDAI) Aadhaar programme has become the butt of the joke for many, not just in India, but the rest of the world as well.
Netflix, the popular online streaming service, also dipped its toes into the trolling waters and poked fun at the programme with a video. The 19 second video is based on an episode of the platform’s fourth installment of the hit series “Black Mirror,” the episode being “Hang the DJ.”
In the episode, the characters use a device to find romantic partners. This device is also able to determine the length of the users’ romantic relationships by giving an “expiry date.”
The clip based on the aforementioned episode, shows a character asking his device for the expiry date of his relationship with his current partner Amy. The device then asks him to “Link Aadhaar Card to Find Out.”
