Tata Zest has achieved a sale of 50,000 units and the company has decided to celebrate it in a great fashion. A dealer-level accessory package comprising of body kit with red skirts and ORVMs, body graphics, a blacked-out roof, additional chrome garnishing, door moldings, bumper protectors, door visors and new seat covers is now available for all models of Tata Zest.
Named as Sportz Edition, the package is priced at INR 20,000 which buyers have to pay n addition to the cost of the car.
The inclusion of alloy wheels in the package as shown in the advertisement is available with the variants on the higher side of the price. Tata included this as a standard feature for all the models, in the past. The Zest has three models, out of which one is petrol variant while the other two are diesel models.The petrol model is a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine that makes 90PS of power and 140Nm of torque. The 1.3-litre Quadrajet turbo-diesel engine is at present offered in two states of tune – 75PS/190Nm and 90PS/200Nm.From the very beginning, Tata provided 5- speed AMT option for the 90PS diesel engine, whereas the other motors came with 5-speed manuals.
According to some sources, buyers are yet to show substantial interest in Tata Zest despite and the celebrations around the sale of 50,000 Zests is just an exercise to create hype. Maruti Swift Dzire is still the most preferred option and those who want a sleeker and modern vehicle are still glued to Hyundai Xcent. The heavy discounts offered for Bolt and Zest brings to light this fact.
