Korean carmaker Hyundai will increase the price of the Creta by up to Rs. 15000. The new prices will come into effect by September 2016. The price rise comes as part of Hyundai’s annual price revision that takes place in the Q3 or the third quarter of every year.
The price revision is to compensate for the inflation trend each year that can add up to either the production or the overhead costs or both. Hyundai also communicates the new pricing with its dealers prior to the date of rise in prices; for the dealers to hike the prices in uniformly throughout the whole of India.
The manufacturer also asks their dealers to advance future orders before the price rise, so that customers can benefit by purchasing the SUV earlier, before the prices are hiked. Customers may now expect to have a maximum price rise of up to Rs. 15000 on each of the variants, beginning from September 2016, when the price rise will come into effect.
Offered in both petrol and diesel engine variants, the petrol variants are priced between Rs. 9.17 lakh amd Rs. 12.87 lakh. The diesel variants of the Creta SUV are priced between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 14.51 lakh (all ex-showroom prices, Delhi).
The company also recently launched its S+ Diesel Automatic variant, which was the only equipment the SUV lacked earlier. The bestseller SUV is known for its premium, high-end features, top-of-the-line safety equipment and riding comfort for both short and long distance travels.
The Hyundai Creta is offered in 1.6-litre CRDi and 1.4-litre CRDi diesel powertrains, along with a 1.6-litre MPi petrol mill. The 1.6-litre diesel engine generates 128 PS of power and the 1.4-litre diesel motor delivers 90 PS of power. The 1.6-litre petrol puts out 123 PS of power.
