Ford has claimed that it’s now producing one lakh car from its plant in Sanand, Gujrat. The manufacturer has achieved this amount within 15 months because the plant’s operations have started in the second quarter of 2015.
This production plant is Ford’s second largest plant while the first one is in near Chennai. The company has already invested a hefty amount near about $ 1 billion in this plant, which also connects to various export markets like Europe, Middle-East, Africa, and the ASEAN countries.
The manufacturer claimed that they are producing the Figo hatchback and the Figo Aspire compact sedan (total one lakh units) in Sanand, while other products are coming out from the Chennai plant.
Out of 1 lakh cars 50% have been exported to other countries this means the company is selling 50000 units in domestic markets. With this ratio, Ford has become the largest car exporter in the country in August 2016 by shipping out 17,860 units, as compared to Hyundai’s figure of 16,506 units.
