Mangalore: Renault Scala meets the demand where Sunny fall short. Predictably, it is the supplement of Nissan Sunny but with add-on of some smart features, it becomes distinctive at its place.

While looking at its features, Scala gives a keyless entry with engine start/stop push button, automatic climate control with air quality filter, safety airbags, ABS with EBD brake assistance, anti-theft device with alarm, but with the absence of USB port and Bluetooth supported audio bring its downside as well as its indent gear box. Hence, one can manage with auxiliary port.

Scala is available in three molds — RxE(P), RxL(P/D), RxZ(D). No menace with safety issues, as Scala provides ABS with EBD emergency brake assistance to all its variants and front air bags to driver and passenger; also rear window defroster timer and anti-theft device alarm only to its two trims except RxE(P).

Scala gets chic with its 15 inch alloy wheels, chrome inside door handles, chrome finish radiator grille, smoked styled headlights and white strips on its tail lights. It is equipped with leather upholstery on steering wheel and gear knob withal audio controls while driving.

Scala endow with two choices of a 1.5 litre dCi engine and 1.5 litre petrol. The known K9K diesel engine produces 86 PS @ 3750rpm and 200 Nm @ 200 rpm. Moreover, company claims a mileage of 16.95kmpl for its petrol variant and 20 to 21.64 kmpl for the diesel.

Besides, one can get mileage of 14 to 15kmpl in city usage for its petrol variant and 20 to 21.64 kmpl for the diesel.  Last month, company has also introduced RxL plus in the markets.

Its petrol variant on road priced between Rs 8.74 lakh and Rs 12.49 lakh, while diesel hit at a cost of Rs 10.09 lakh and Rs 11.79 lakh.

Scala is available in various colors pearl white, solid black, metallic silver, blue and red. Also, its gives you warranty of four years on 80,000km.
