Bengaluru: The Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA), Bengaluru is taking 20 engineering colleges under its wing to participate in its ‘Seventy by 75’ mission, with the aim of having 70 satellites built by students from Indian engineering and degree colleges within three years.
In collaboration with the Israel Space Agency, the programme will put 70 such nanosatellites low-orbit around the Earth by 2022 says TOI. This ‘Engineer Your Satellite” initiative includes exchange programmes organised for both the students and faculty members of the various Indian and Israeli institutions involved.
While inaugurating the Indian Technology Congress 2019, in Bengaluru on Sept 4, Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan announced that the Government will extend all support to make degree and engineering colleges ‘Hubs of technology and innovation.’
