Dubai: UAE’s one and only association which is dedicatedly working to showcase and teach Yakshagana in a professional manner, Yakshamitraru Dubai, all set to present their upcoming Yakshagana show on June 3, 2016 at Sheikh Rashid auditorium, Dubai.

A play named ‘Virochana-Taranisena’ will be presented by amateur artists of UAE along with some guest artists of coastal Karnataka. The curtain raiser program of Yakshagana was held at Chandani Hall of Fortune Plaza hotel, Al Qusais. Chief conveyor of Yaakshamitraru Dubai, Chidananda Poojary, Dinesh Shetty, yakshagana promoter Lakshmi Narayana Sharma and director Shekhar Shettigar launched the hand bill and released the tickets of the show.

Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Shetty said, since 2004 Yakshamitraru Dubai is promoting art in Gulf countries and has created a stage for artists who are interested to become yakshagana artists. The remaining amount after the show will be given to needy yakshagana artists who served their life to develop the art. Famous bhagavatas of yakshagana, Patla Satish Shetty and Ravichandra Kannadikatte will be the guest bhagavatas for this show. Along with them, famous chende artist Guruprasad Bolinjadka and women role artist Shashikanth Shetty will be participating in presentation.

Director Shekhar Shettigar said, from past many years the dedication of yakshagana lovers created a strong team of artists and especially children are showing high proficiency in their narrations. This year, children from UAE will be handling the major roles in yakshagana which will create history for yakshamitraru.

During the same time, a promo of yakshagana show was launched by yakshamitraru Dubai team members Girish and Samantha Girish.

Rajesh Kuttar compered the program and presented the vote of thanks.
