Dubai: The UAE chapter of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation, a forum which was started by famous Yakshagana bhagavatha Patla Sathish Shetty with a vision to help and support Yakshagana artists and their families during their tough time, was inaugurated in a grand manner.
The formal function of the inauguration was held at Fortune Plaza hotel Al Quieses. President of Yakshadhruva Patla foundation UAE president Sarvottam Shetty, president of Fortune group of hotels Praveen Shetty, director of Ace Cranes Gunasheel Shetty, India House Restaurant Chief Raghu Shetty and other dignitaries along with the founder of trust Patla Sathish Shetty inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, president Sarvottam Shetty said, there is no artist who became rich financially only with his dedication to art. Yakshagana is our culture and proud art to which many artists have contributed their whole life. But during their helpless stage there is no one to support them. We must join our hands through Yakshadhruva Patla foundation to help these needy legends of Yakshagana art.
President of Fortune group of hotels Praveen Shetty said, the foundation is working towards serving such Yakshagana artists without differentiating the artists of different teams or types. So he expressed his whole hearted support to the founder and the association.
Founder Patla Sathish Shetty briefly explained the vision behind staring the trust. Adding to his words, he also explained the future plans that the foundation is willing to start pension to senior artists, building houses to needy artists, scolorship and financial support to artists children, medical insurance to artists and their family etc. He thanked all the members and wellwishers for their love and support for this noble cause.
Yakshamitraru Dubai who organized the function, honoured artists of Yakshagana play “Virochana-Taranisena”, after the successful presentation. Rajesh Kuthar compered the program. Vittal Shetty presented vote of thanks. Dinesh Shetty, Chidananda Poojary and others associated for the success of the event.
