Ajman: A rampaging Unique strikers thrashed Cric Icon DVS Bhatkal by eight wickets as Vikrant Shetty (33), Ishtihaque (32) and Neville (5/4) helped the team to win in low scoring match at Globelink West Star Shipping LLC Mangaluru Premier League (MPL) at the Ajman Oval ground Stadium, UAE on Friday.
Chasing 88 to win at Oval ground at Ajman, Unique Strikers Bhatkal rode on a 64 run unbeaten partnership for third wicket by Vikranth Shetty (33 not out) and Istihaque (32 not out) to canter Strikers in 13.3 overs.
Earlier electing to bat in hot and testing conditions, Cric Icon DVS Bhatkal lost early wickets, but Zia Quazi’s 31—ball knock by scoring 31 runs with two sixes and a four helped them to reach the target of 87.
But it was Neville Pereira’s day of Unique strikers as he picked four wickets for 5 in 2.2 overs.

Ajman: Mohammed Harris Utloor proved the scourge of Al Sitara Gulf Karkala’s bowlers after smashing 10 off the final over to power Wels prince XI Manipal to a thrilling one-wicket victory in the Globelink West Star Shipping LLC Mangaluru Premier League (MPL) at the Ajman Oval ground Stadium, UAE on Friday.
Having earlier compiled a modest total of 137 for eight, Karkala strangled the run-rate on a wicket that both sides found difficult to score on and looked set to win after leaving Manipal needing 10 runs from Navin’s last over.
Number eight batsman Mohammed Harris, however, clubbed by scoring two runs and a leg bye boundary to lead the home team over the line.
The allrounder also hit a swashbuckling half-century to help his side scramble a one-wicket triumph.
Mohammed Haris top-scored with an unbeaten 52 from 32 balls by hitting four fours and four sixes.
Earlier, Karkala won the toss and batted first, Prasanna (24) and Sandeep (26) blazed their way to reach to a modest total of 137 in 20 overs.
Avinash Roa was the chief destroyer for Manipal with his best figures of 3 for 20.

Girish, Farhan star in Manipal’s 5-run win over Bhatkal
Ajman: Girish Acharya dished out a brilliant spell of bowling after Farhan Beary batting heroics as Wels Prince XI Manipal recorded a comfortable five-run victory over Unique strikers Bhatkal in their MPL cricket match here on Thursday.
Batting first, Farhan Beary smashed a blistering 42-ball 39 with five fours and a six to help Manipal post a challenging 117 for 9.
Defending the total, Girish Acharya led the bowling charge with superb figures of three wickets for 6 runs in his two overs, his best in T20 cricket, at the Ajman oval Stadium.
Girish ended Bhatkal’s faint hopes of a victory by dismissing Ubada Barmawar (14), Santosh (2) and Jundub Matta (0) to seal the match for Manipal.
Bhatkal were bundled out for 112 in 16.2 overs.
