Abu Dhabi: The Soorya Festival organised by UAE Exchange showcased excellent Indian Culture in the form of Dance. The event conceived by Soorya Krishnamoorthy, Soorya Festival is organised twice a year under the patronage of Padmashree Dr. B R Shetty, Chairman of NMC Healthcare in a attempt to disseminate the rich Indian culture to other parts of the world. Today Soorya has started its chapters in 16 countries with the motto of achieving International integration through Culture.
A two hour programme in Abu Dhabi consisted of Bharathnayam solo perfomance by Jyotsna Jaganathan followed by Odissi Ballet from Aruna Mohanty and Group Orissa. Both performances were well choreographed and a true pictures of Indian cultural dances. Both perfomances were well recieved by the audiences.
The artists were hounoured by Indian Ambassador to UAE T. P. Seetharam couple, Dr. B R Shetty, Dr C R Shetty and UAE Exchange President Sudheer Kumar Shetty. Fr. Thomas Sebestian, Representatives from Srilanka and Bangladesh Embassies, Soorya Krishnamoorthy, Sarvotham Shetty and other guestes were present. UAE Exchange Facebook contest winners were announced during the programme.
Soorya Festival will be held today 31.05.2015 at 8 PM at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School Dubai.
