Doha: The seventh annual day celebration of Tulu Koota Qatar held at Delhi Public School auditorium here on Friday April 25, with colorful programs & musical extravaganza.
The Rajyotsava Award winner and professor of Kannada language, literature and folklorists Dr BA Viveka Rai a Very resourceful person from Mangalore grace the occasion as a Chief Guest. Executive members and children’s in traditional gesture welcomed the guests with line of procession.
Tulukoota President seetharam shetty, vice president Asmath Ali escorted the chief guest to the dias. The program began with lighting of the Lamp by chief guest and meanwhile Tulukoota annual Souvenir “Nirel” was released in the occasion. Seetharam Shetty welcomed the gathering and has rise his voice to the young generation for come forward in preserve of Tulunadu Culture & Tradition to next generation. Bunts Qatar President and Philanthropist Ravi Shetty & executive committee members were present on the dias.
Chief Guest Dr Viveka Rai spoke about the rich heritage of Tulu culture and praised Tulu Koota Qatar for the hard work in preserving and promoting rich Tulu culture in this part of the world and also for imparting these values to the younger generation. Dr B A Viveka Rai was honoured with shawl and presented with a memento on behalf of Tulu Koota Qatar.
The welcome dance with colorful fusion of Kathak, Bharathnatyam, Kuchupudi, Mohiniyatam were performed by Tulu Koota ladies and also Yakshagana from children delight the occasion. The wecome dance was choreographed by Padmashree Shetty and Dimple Nair.
Internationally acclaimed flutist Pandit Pravin Godkhindi enthralled the crowd throughout the evening with his melodious flute performance. Leading Sandalwood playback singers Hemanth Kumar and “Malenadu Kogile” Fame Dr.Shamitha Malnad entertained the crowd with wonderful renditions of super hit numbers.
Pushkal Kumar Thonse, mimcriy artiste from Dakshina Kannada entertained the audience with his rib-tickling comedy.
Bunts Qatar president Ravi Shetty, vice-president of the association Asmath Ali were both honored along with their families for their contribution and support to all activities of the Tulu Koota Qatar. The prestigious Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Throw ball winner Men & Women teams were honored with mementos.
Children who have excelled in academic & extracurricular activities were honored with gift & mementos; dance performers of the evening, volunteers and guests artistes were presented with mementos.
A very talented Naveen Shetty and Archana shetty compere the stage program with their high command over Tulu Language. Cultural secretary Dr Padmashree Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
