Sharjah: Thumbay Hospital Day Care, Rolla, Sharjah, the multispeciality day care hospital under Thumbay Group’s Healthcare Division, had organised a free health camp on January 26.
Organised with the aim of promoting health awareness among the public and offering them easy access to quality healthcare, the camp offered specialist consultations, medicines, laboratory investigations, X-ray, ECG and Ultrasound services; all completely free of charges.
Prof. Hossam Hamdy, the Chancellor of Gulf Medical University, Ajman was the chief guest of the inaugural function of the health camp. “At the outset, I congratulate Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group on the first anniversary of Thumbay Hospital Day Care. I am impressed by the facilities and the team of doctors and caregivers here, and their services to the community. I am sure this hospital will continue serving more people in the future, being strategically located at the heart of Rolla, Sharjah”, he said.
Held from 9 AM to 9 PM, the camp offered free healthcare services including specialist doctor consultations and blood sugar, BMI checkups. A team of specialist doctors, consultants, nurses and volunteers conducted free consultations and checkups across various specialist departments. Moreover, medicines, laboratory investigations and radiology services were offered completely free of charges. Visitors also availed the free refraction and fundoscopy tests.
Families and people of all age groups attended the camp. Thasni, an Indian national who consulted a general practitioner, thanked Thumbay Hospital Day Care for the camp. “I have been able to get a free consultation, as well as lab tests and ultrasound, completely free of cost. Everything from consultation to sample collections, specialist referral and medicine collection took just around 45 minutes, despite large numbers of people attending the camp. The camp is well-coordinated and systematically organised”, she said.
