Ajman: New Mark Mangalore Dubai displaying superior skills emerged victorious in the Men’s All India level Kabaddi Tournament after defeating Team Arjun Acheri in the heat shield final organized by New Mark Dubai at Ajman GMC Sports ground on Friday, December 18.

Organised by New Mark and Thumbay Group Ajman the all-day tournament held on an All-India level saw the participation of a total of 16 well-known Kabaddi teams from all over UAE fighting passionately for the trophy.

The Chief Guests at the event included Praveen Shetty of Fortune group of Hotels, Gunasheel Shetty and Prasanna Shetty from Ace Crains, Jayanth Shetty of ChillyWilly, Yadav Kotian from Igloo Ice cream, Arif from Thumbay group, Manohar Hegde from Tulu Koota. They heartily supported the teams with their presence.

Representing the main organizers were Noel Almeida, Naveen Salian, Praveen Albuquerque and Anil Cardoza while the Co-organizers were represented by Anand P Valal, Remi Dsouza, Roshan, Vijay, Hameed Hosmata and others.

Tournament Officials included Krishnappa ( National Level), Praveen Ira (Karnataka State), Tharanath Shetty Abudabi , Lokesh and Kariappa supported by Roshan, Shiva Shetty and Moideen Kunhi, Seema Rodrigues, Marina Menezes and Team.

It was an impressive sight at the stadium where Kabaddi lovers from all over UAE gathered and cheered till the end.

Results:

In the finals of the Kabaddi, New Mark Mangalore team defeated Arjun Acheri Kabaddi club Kasaragod (19-14) in a thrilling match.

The award for the ‘Best All Rounder’ went to Rohit Marla (Karnataka State and Vijaya Bank Player) of New Mark Mangalore team. The ‘Best Rider’ title went to Raheem (Former Karnataka State and Ullala Sports Club) of New Mark team and the ‘Best Catcher’ award went to Sagar Acheri (Kerala State captain and Junior India).

The New Mark Team was represented with well-known Kabaddi Players from Karnataka including Suhail (Former SAI South), Manoj (Karanataka State and Alvas Sports), Ashiq (Junior Karnataka State and Varun Travels Sports Club), Yakoob Hosmat (Former Karnataka State) and others.

First Place:   New Mark Mangalore, Dubai (Winners Trophy plus cash prize AED 5000)

Runners   :   Arjun Accheri Sports Club, Kasaragodu (Runners Trophy plus cash prize AED 4000)

1st Runner up:  New Bharath Sports Club, Tamilanadu (Trophy plus cash prize AED 3000)

2nd Runner up: Ponnani Welfare Committee, Kerala (Trophy plus cash prize AED 2000)
