Dubai: Surathkal Parishioners residing in the UAE were in for another day of fun and entertainment at the ESPA Family Feast 2015 on the 12th of June at the India Club, Dubai. The FAMILY FEAST was held to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who is the patron of the Surathkal Parish. ESPA is the association of Surathkal Parishioners residing in the UAE. It was formed in 2010.

The programme began with prayer and lighting of the lamp by the advisors of ESPA Charles Aranha, Godfreey Misquith, Valerian Dalmaida, William Sequeira and Ashok D’Souza the immediate past president.
Mr. Vincent Misquith, Vice President welcomed the gathering and mentioned the objective of ESPA was bringing all the Surathkal Parishioners together. ESPA was conducting 3 programmes every year – The Family Picnic, Carol singing and the celebration of the feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus.
A video showing the journey of 5 years of ESPA was shown and it was nice to go down the memory lane.
Mr. Avil Pinto, Joint Secretary read out the prayerful greetings sent by the Parish Priest of Surathkal Fr. Anthony Lobo.
ESPA advisor Valerian Dalmaida while speaking on the occasion mentioned that ESPA has completed 5 years and explained how the association was running. He asked the members to come up with suggestions and pass it on to the committee members.
It was entertainment galore with well know Band Eagles at their very best. Joshal, Melwyn and Prashant mesmerized the gathering with a variety of melodious Konkani numbers. Also the Baila session at the end of the programme sent everyone onto the dancing floor to the beats of Eagles.
A surprise attraction of the show was the mimicry by Melwyn D’Souza. The audience were spell bound by the talent of Melwyn D’Souza of the Band Eagles. Singer Lancy Noronha also sang some Tulu songs which were well appreciated by the audience. ESPA members Calvina Misquith, Rohan D’Souza and Desmond D’Souza also sang on the occasion. There was a instrumental performance by the Riyan Pinto on Violin and Olan Pinto on keyboards.
Dances were performed by Aaron Misquith, Alston Misquith, Athan D’Souza, Ashel D’Souza, Feanna D’Souza ,Lanisha Noronha, Lennon D’Souza, Leora D’Souza, Samantha Angel, Nicole, Ashlin Crasta and Lanita Noronha. All children are the students of Arun Lobo of Feet Beat Group, Karama.
Deepak D’Souza and Wilson Serrao along with Louis D’Souza, Rohan, Cleeta Sequeira and Avinash D’Souza left the audience laughing and enjoying the comedy skits. Spot games were conducted and prizes were distributed by Mrs. Leena Pinto, Mr. Jerry D’Souza and Mrs. Romoola D’Souza.
President of ESPA Mr. Roydon Roche and Treasurer Mr. Vineeth Cutinho conducted the draw for the lucky entry coupons.
Stage was well decorated by Christopher Menezes who was assisted by the other ESPA members.
A sumptuous lunch was arranged on the occasion..
The whole programme was well organized with compere Avinash D’Souza who did a good job with his oratory skills. The enterprising Secretary of ESPA Mrs. Clara Pinto proposed the vote of thanks and thanked each and every one who strived their best to make the event a memorable one.
