Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum no more

Dubai: Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, son of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, died of a heart attack on Saturday morning. He was 34.

According to sources, prayers will be held at Zabeel mosque this evening, followed by funeral at Umm Harir cemetery in Bur Dubai.

A three-day mourning period has been declared in Dubai. UAE flags will be flown at half mast during the mourning period.

“We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,” the Dubai Ruler Court said as it mourned Shaikh Rashid’s death on Saturday.

Sheikh Rashid was the eldest son of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Rashid was a keen horse lover and was the owner of Zabeel Stables.
