Dubai: Nama Tuluver in association with Rythm Events successfully presented ‘Dhumbu Pira’, a tulu comedy and social drama by famous ‘Kaup Ranga Tharanga’ Group lead by Samajaratna Kaup Leeladhar Shetty at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian School, Dubai, here on March 4.

Former ICYM National Director Fr. Franklin D’Souza inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp in the presence of dignitaries, sponsors and organizing committee members.

Fortune Group of Hotels Chairman Praveen Shetty, Sai Vision Furniture Managing Director Umesh Kukkian, Dubai Source Managing Director Harish Bangera were present durinng the occasion.

Shivaprakash Poonja, a noted Tulu stage play artist and director of ‘Dhumbu Pira’ was felicitated and honoured on behalf of Nama Tuluver for his contribution towards the society and Tulu drama field.

The stage play, ‘Dhumbu Pira’ is written by Shyam Kumar Chitrapura, directed by Shiva Prakash Poonja, music composed by Sharath Uchil and features Prashamsa Team’s ‘Kusaldha Birse’ Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, Prasanna Bailur, Mervin Shirva, Suchetha, Harish, Madhukar Amin, Raguraja Paniyadi, Yashwantha, Rajesh Kottari, Shamith Rao, Srinivas Acharya, Shwetha and Sujith Shetty enthralled the huge audience with their acting skills with acclaimed rib tickling comedy.

Shodhan Prasad compered the programme and President of Namma Tuluver, Deepak S P thanked all the artistes, sponsors and all who extended their support for the grand success of “Dhumbu Pira”.
