Dubai: Vamanjooreans UAE, a vibrant association of Vamanjoor parishioners residing in UAE is all set to stage the mega event ‘Melwyn Live in Concert’, on Friday, April 29th at JSS Auditorium, Dubai at 6:00pm.
Melwyn Antony D’Souza
Melwyn Anthony D’Souza who hails from Bendur, Mangalore is an amazing lead vocalist and composer who has a strong fan base in every country that he has performed. With a degree in carnatic music, he has sung for several projects and jingles and has performed live in several cities in India, Kuwait and Oman.
He has also left his mark in several popular Konkani albums through his numbers and also sung in a Marathi Album ‘Sparshtuza.’ His ability to hit the high notes in singing and connecting with the audience has been appreciated by many. He is known to lift the mood of the event with his vibrant performance and has been known in his friend circles as ‘rock star’ who also call him ‘Mika Singh of Konkani’. Being nominated for the best lyricist for Konkani Global Music Awards 2012 has been a feather in Melwyn’s cap and speaks of his ability to write meaningful lyrics through which he has contributed his excellence to many of the Konkani albums.
Akshada Talaulikar
The highlight of the event will surely be play back singer, performer and 1st Global Konkani best female singer Awardee Akshada Talaulikar .
This resplendent beauty of Panjim acquired the art of basic singing under the able guidance of Pt. Sudhakar. Currently she trains and learns from Pt. Subhash Prabhudesai, a prominent music teacher in “Swarmanch”, Margao, Goa.
She won tremendous accolades all across, winning various prizes at state level competitions organized by various clubs, business groups and religious institutes. One of which is the prestigious global Konkani music award from Kalangan, Mangaluru in the year 2009 for the best female singer.
She has performed with various eminent Marathi artists like Milind Ingle and Abhijeet Kosambi. Akshada has had the opportunity to share the stage with celebrities like Suresh Wadkar, Pankaj Udhas, Jagjit Singh, Mika Singh, and many others, and has received great praises and applauses from Khadikar, Rajana Joglekar, Amol Bandekar etc.
Akshada has also released various religious albums like Radhe Radhe, Siddhicha Vinayaka, Devi Mhalsa etc. and main stream commercial albums like Akshada Geet, Sparsh Tuzha Akshada. She has also done playback singing for movies like Ek Ass Antarichi, Radon Aka, various commercials on radio, and has also sung along with Indian Pop Star Remo Fernandes for his upcoming album, and all these achievements have placed her in a very elite league of musicians in the Konkani and Marathi entertainment field.

Loy Valentine Saldanha:
Loy Valentine Saldanha, who has collaborated with Melwyn in several musical shows, is a certified engineer in music production and sound design from A. R. Rahman’s Institute Audio Media, Chennai. With his passion for music and his ability to play keyboard and arrange music, he has earned many laurels for his hard work among which winning best music director for short film ‘Ek Galthi’. He was honoured in Muscat Indian Embassy for his performance and talent. As a talented music director he has worked in number of Konkani Albums as well as advertisements. Currently he is managing the helm of affairs at PMV music productions.
Patson Pereira:
A qualified sound engineer in music production and audio technologies from SAE Institute of Audio Engineering, Malaysia, presently is an official member of Band Charitra as a guitarist and runs his own recording studio named Patma Digitalz where he is a music programmer, composer, sound engineer & vocalist. In short, a bundle of talents, enthusiasm and giving out creativity.
Ian Sachin Saldanha:
He began as a session drummer of several top rock bands and playing a number of hit shows at his early age. Currently he is the drummer and the percussionist of the band with an energetic spirit.
Rikith Leonard Soans:
An unsung hero from the city of Udupi, supporting melody while syncing with the band to bring out wonderful piece of music. Born & brought up in a family of music, he acquired the certificate of western music (Grade 5) under trinity college of London(TLC) in 2012. Presently he is the official bassist for desi rock band Charitra.

Feet Beat, a professional dance group based in Dubai will entertain the crowd with their dance performances.
Kushal Kalaakar Dubai team consisting of Melwin, Shashiraj, Darel, Jeethan and Fabian will entertain us with their rib tickling unique comedy.
The show will be hosted by Roshan Dsilva, a renowned compere in the GCC. Roshan needs no introduction as he has compered plenty of Konkani musical shows for various artists like Melwyn Peris, Lancy Noronha, Norbert Pereira, Maxim Pereira and Vincent Fernandes, Casica. Out of the many reality shows Roshan has hosted, Gulf Voice of Mangalore and Naach Baila Naach are a top few.
The collective opinion of the organizing committee is that, talents of Melwin and many others should be nurtured and promoted on a larger platform. Normally these talents go unnoticed, due to the lack of resources and financial support. Hence, organizing this kind of event will help Melwyn and other talented local and Mangalorean artists to exhibit their talents by providing them a platform to perform. Hence, Vamanjooreans UAE are geared up to make this event memorable and successful by pooling together their collective efforts. This event would also enable them to serve the dual purpose of promoting cultural activities and artists and support their benevolent ventures in hand.
