Mangalore, Nov 30: Dubai’s well known entrepreneur from Mangalore, and an established singer himself, Harish Sherigar donated Rs 13 lakhs, to 3 different causes from the proceeds of his much-appreciated comedy and musical show Dhoom Dhamaka 2013, held on 15th Nov 2013 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School, Dubai.
Harish Sherigar thanked all the sponsors and well wishers and the audience of over 1400 people who witnessed the Dhoom Damaka – 2013 show. The show was presented by ACME Building Materials, Dubai. The main sponsor was Farlin Group, followed by United Agencies, Transtec General Trading, Global Timber co. and many more.
Rs 7 Lakhs for Rashid Centre for Disabled:

A part of the proceeds amounting to Rs.7 Lakhs (Dhs.45,000) from the charity show Doom Damaka – 2013 was donated to Rashid Centre for Disabled, Dubai guided by the vision of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nayan.
The Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre is a humanitarian organization, which provides quality education and therapy services to children with special needs.
Inaugurated in 1994, the centre aims to ensure that international standards of excellence in education and therapy are maintained at every level. The centre is unique in the Emirates for providing a holistic multi disciplinary approach to special needs residing in the UAE, and to develop awareness and an understanding of disability issues in the Gulf Community.
Rs 3 Lakh was contributed to Snehalaya Charitable Trust:



On Friday Nov. 29th Harish Sherigar and his wife contributed an amount of Rs 3 Lakh to Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Mangalore.
This is the story of a man who has singlehandedly brought about a qualitative change in the lives of several people in the city.
The hero of the story is M. Joseph Crasta, from a humble background, who has dedicated himself to serve the poor in ‘Snehalaya’ – an orphanage catering to the needs of mentally ill and destitute.
On this occasion Harish Sherigar handed over the cheque to Joseph Crasta.
Well know Architect Sanath Shetty, Vishwas builder Mr.Abdul Rauf, Dhanajay and Sathish Kapikad were present on the occasion.
House for a poor family:




Harish Sherigar donated an amount of Rs 3 Lakh towards the construction of a home of 700 sq ft for a Devadiga family. The head of the family is Rukmayya Devadiga, who, along with his wife and 3 children, was under going lot of hardship and did not have a place to live. Almost 80% of construction of the house is done and it is scheduled for completion by the end of December 2013.
Harish Sherigar personally visited the place along with his wife Sharmila Sherigar and handed over the key of the house to Rukmayya Devadiga and his wife Umavathi.
