Kuwait: On the 29th Kannada Rajotsava celebration, a program arranged by Kuwait Kannada Koota on 8th November, 2013 at Cambridge School at Kuwait observed a stunning performance by VJ Poorvi K Rao. Kuwait Kannadigas were left amazed by her versatility and talent.
Renowned Kannada film lyricist, Jayanth Kaikini, was the chief guest for the program. He lauded & congratulated Poorvi K Rao for her excellent dance performance and felicitated her with a memento.
The 8-year-old, multi talented girl from Mangalore showcased “NAMMA NADA SOBAGU” a recital for 40 minutes in which she depicted the rich culture of Karnataka with different dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, folk, kodava, yakshagana, free style & filmy folk.
This was her first international show wherein she had performed in front of a gathering that was over 600 people. After her performance she sincerely thanks all her Gurus, well wishers and supporters
Poorvi is a standard 3, student of Mount Carmel English Medium School, Mary Hill. She has been learning Bharatanatyam in “Bharatanjali” Kottara from Sridhara Holla and Vidhushi Srimathi Pratima S Holla & Filmy dance in BoyZone from Kishore Kumar.
She is a winner of over 175 prizes in dancing, singing & fancy dress competitions, Poorvi is hosting the live program “Putani Batani” in Sahaya TV on Mondays’ between 8.00 PM to 9.00 PM.
She is a daughter of Kumaraswamy and Asha Kumaraswamy
