Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), a frontline community group organised its annual mega event Vasantotsava here on 15th May Friday evening at Delhi Public School Auditorium.
The event comprised a Cultural Fiesta with Live Orchestra show ‘Unplugged with Mayur’ by renowned sandalwood singers Rajesh Krishnan and Sinchan Dixit and dance performances by Bhushan and Team from Bengaluru.
The program started with lighting of the Jyothi and a welcome dance from the Bhushan Team. The KSQ president Deepak Shetty then honoured the committee members who contributed their service during their term of office 2013-15.
A small stage program was held, R.K singh Deputy Chief of Mission was the Chief Guest of the evening. ICC president Girish Kumar, ICBF president Arvind Patil and Satish, Doha Design Consortium Executive Manager were chief of Honour. President Deepak Shetty escorts the guests to the dias. Event sponsor Ghazi, from Alma, Singer Rajesh Krishnan, KSQ vice president Nagesh Rao and General Secretary Mahesh Gowda were present on the dias. Satish Kumar and Rajesh Krishnan were also felicitated. Event sponsor Mr.Ghazi was presented with a memento by President Deepak Shetty, who in turn was honoured by the KSQ advisory board for his outstanding contribution towards Karnataka Sangha Qatar and other community works.
Speaking on the occasion, ICC president Girish Kumar applauded the KSQ for its outstanding community work which puts the KSQ in the front row among ICC affiliated organisations. Arvind Patil too congratulated Deepak Shetty and all committee members for their great service.
The cultural programme then took off with the live Orchestra and dance program, Hosted in characteristic style by RJ Mayur of “Unplugged with Mayur” fame. Singer Rajesh Krishnan and Sinchan Dixit entertained the crowd with plenty of Kannada and Hindi Numbers. Pradyuna on tabla, Sandeep Vasista on flute, Venugopal on main keyboard, Ashwin Kumar on keyboard, Manjunath N S on drums and Karthik on guitar supported the singers. A packed auditorium enjoyed the program and took to dancing to the melodies of the orchestra.
The beautiful backdrop, which was the main attraction of the evening, was designed by Ramachandra Shetty and Chandrashekhar Shetty.
KSQ cultural secretary H.K.Madhu compered the evening in his unique style.
