Ajman: Konkan Bells, the association of Belthangady Varado Parishioners in the UAE, held their sports meet on 14-Nov-2014 at Body & Soul, GMC University Ground, Ajman – UAE.

The event started with a prayer dance performed by Monisha, following which the guests were escorted to the dais. Konkan bells president Remigius Dsouza welcomed the gathering.

Walter Nandalike lit the lamp to inaugurate the meet and addressed the gathering. Joshal D’Souza was honored for winning the gulf voice of Mangalore season -4 as she belongs to the Denary parish, while Jesinth Rasquinha led the oath taking ceremony.

The  UAE and Indian National anthem  were rendered melodiously by  Konkan Bells  kids Riva, Riona and Kelton. Rohini emceed the inauguration program .

Sports:

After the inaugural,  the sports events took place.

13 volley ball teams,  4 Kabaddi and 7 men and 7 women,  Throw ball teams  participated in the event

The organizing committee’s organization of the sports events was efficient and much appreciated by the participants and the spectators alike.

The enthusiastic and excellent  commentary of Vinod and Godwin kept the spectators  updated on various events and also entertained them.

Prize Distribution:

The prize distribution program began at 6:45 pm with a dance programme by the feet beat group of Mr. Arun lobo. The crowd enjoyed it.

 Walter Pereira, the backbone and main sponsor of the Konkan bells together with Vasu Shetty and Shiva Shetty were on the dais. They honored all the winners.

A raffle was drawn, and prizes distributed to the lucky winners. Godwin  compereed  the  Valedictory.

The day long event came to an end at 7:30 pm .
